Delaware County Democrats Turn Out for Independence Day Parades

On a warm, sun-drenched Fourth of July, Democratic candidates, grassroots organizers, and enthusiastic volunteers blanketed Delaware County to celebrate Independence Day across five local parades. From marching down historic streets in Delaware to greeting crowds in Dublin, Orange Township, Sunbury, and Westerville, local Democrats turned out in force to showcase candidate visibility and civic engagement ahead of the autumn election season.

Multi-Parade Presence Across Central Ohio

With multiple parades happening simultaneously across the region, candidate teams split up to ensure strong representation in every corner of the county.

High Energy and Historic Tributes in Delaware

The day kicked off at 11:00 a.m. in the city of Delaware, where local marchers fielded a dynamic group. The DelCo Divas carried Women in History educational posters, celebrating prominent female trailblazers. Joining the Delaware procession were several featured 2026 Democratic candidates:

  • Vince McGrail, Democratic candidate for Ohio State Representative (61st District)
  • Joshua Kolasinski, candidate for U.S. Congress in Ohio’s 4th Congressional District
  • Ryan Grissinger, Democratic candidate for Delaware County Commissioner

Orange Township

In Orange Township, Ryan Grissinger and Scott Charland kicked off the morning surrounded by active volunteers. Marcher Joyce led the way with a decorated wagon, while campaign supporter Jenny Yoder rallied enthusiastic fans along the route for Shelby Kimball, candidate for Ohio State Representative (60th District).

Sunbury

In Sunbury’s morning parade, a combined slate of campaign leaders marched through the square, including Ryan Grissinger, Scott Charland, and Vince McGrail.

Dublin

Over in Dublin, candidate Shelby Kimball turned the parade into a community family affair, marching alongside family, friends, and local precinct volunteers.

Westerville

At Westerville’s Independence Day parade, dedicated volunteer contingents waved signs and handed out materials on behalf of the full slate, including fans of Ryan Grissinger, Scott Charland, Shelby Kimball, and Vince McGrail.

Growing Momentum in Delaware County

“Seeing our candidates and volunteers active across five different parades on a single morning shows the growing momentum and organization here in Delaware County,” noted one local organizer. “The Fourth of July is all about community, and we were thrilled to be out celebrating with our neighbors.”
