Supporting Delaware County Students Committed to Leadership, Service, and Social Justice
The Delaware County Democratic Party is proud to invite graduating high school seniors to apply for the Robert E. Parker Scholarship Fund. Each spring, this scholarship program supports students from Delaware County high schools who plan to continue their education at the collegiate level and who have demonstrated a commitment to academic achievement, community involvement, and civic engagement.
Scholarship recipients are selected by a committee of local community members following a thoughtful review of student applications. Awards are based on a combination of academic performance, extracurricular and community involvement, long-term goals, career aspirations, and political activity.
Special emphasis is given to students who have been involved in efforts that promote:

Diversity and inclusion

Economic equity
-
LGBTQ+ issues
-
Women’s rights
-
Racial equality and reconciliation
Additional consideration may be given for strong presentation and complete application materials.
Application Requirements
Interested students should submit one complete application document that includes the following:

Full name, address, telephone number, and email address

Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number from the Student Aid Report (SAR) following completion of the FAFSA

Current Grade Point Average (GPA) and most recent transcript

Letter of acceptance to a collegiate educational program
-
A resume outlining extracurricular activities, community involvement, and work experience

One essay (maximum 500 words) describing involvement in community volunteer programs, political advocacy, extracurricular activities, or work supporting the social issues listed above

One essay (maximum 250 words) explaining future ambitions, educational goals, and proposed areas of study
