Scott grew up in Marion, graduated from Ridgedale High School, and returned to his hometown after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies Education at the University of Toledo. He worked as a classroom teacher for 13 years, served on the Marion City Council for 9 years, and was elected mayor of Marion in 2008. Now in his fourth term as Marion’s Mayor, Scott is running for Ohio State Treasurer. He promises to bring an approach based on collaboration and cooperation to the office, to to watch over every dollar the state invests, and pinch every penny.
