Picnic in the Park!

Despite the rainy forecast, sunshine prevailed at our picnic in the park which was a huge success with more than 80 people attending! There was a lot of socializing, which was the main goal!

Guest Speaker David Pepper talked about his latest book, Saving Democracy. He stressed that it is important to have candidates in every race to challenge Republicans. After his talk, David Pepper took questions from the group, and then also signed copies of his book for those who bought them.

Pepper also invited Dr. Amy Acton, former Director of the Ohio Department of Health, and she mingled with the crowd before giving a brief talk.

Peg introduced each of the following:

Ken Wright, who serves on Westerville City Council

2023 candidates present:

David Grimes, Westerville City Council

Chris Wyche, Columbus City Council; Chris is running unopposed, he WILL be elected!

Leslie Joiner, Delaware City Council, Ward 2

Louise Douce, Kingston Township Trustee

Louise Valentine, Westerville City School Board

Also attending were three candidates for US House District 4 seeking election in 2024. We will have a Democratic Primary with Jeff Sites, Steve Thomas, and Tamie Wilson.

Peg thanked the many volunteers who have been working tirelessly on the Protect Choice Ohio petitions and the Vote No campaign. People are knocking doors, writing postcards, making phone calls, sending texts, donating money, and distributing signs.
