Nan grew up in a small town in Indiana. She attended the University of Dayton and became the first member of her family to graduate from college. She fell in love with Dayton and was elected mayor in 2013. Now she is running for Governor. Her running mate is Cheryl Stephens, a member of the Cuyahoga County Council, CEO of the non-profit East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation (EANDC), and former mayor of Cleveland Heights.
