Money!
The bad news is that there’s a lot of money being raised by our opposition – at every level. Every day, I’m getting multiple requests for money from the national Democratic party, the state Democratic party, as well as individual candidates at every level. And I’m sure you are, too.

The good news is that smaller contributions make a significant impact at the local level. Delaware County Democratic Party is stepping up – we have more candidates, more training available, and more professional assistance for our candidates. We also have wonderful volunteers and those who contribute financially.

Our third Catch a Rising Star event had record attendance AND netted a record amount! (See our write-up on CARS19 for details.) Our speakers were enthusiastically received by those in attendance. Many individual conversations were started that will lead to follow up meetings. Word is out, and will spread that there are active Democrats in this county.

Now comes the ask – to those of you who are making monthly contributions, please accept my thanks on behalf of the party. If we have our regular monthly bills paid, our Treasurer will be able to sleep better at night! If you are not already a monthly contributor, please consider a $5, $10, $25, or $50 regular monthly commitment. If you are not yet a dues-paying member, just go here to sign up and make any contribution you can. Every dollar helps.

Yes, we can make gains this year that will support us next year. We currently have NO COUNTYWIDE elected officials in Delaware County. In 2020, there will be additional opportunities to run for county offices. Elected officials get to march in parades and appear in public to continue their campaigns when it’s not campaign season. In order to show our appreciation for Democrats who take on the challenge of running for office in Delaware County, the rest of us need to do all that we can to support them.

Finally, THANK YOU to everyone reading this for doing what you do – whether a little or a lot, each of us is contributing in some way, and that is our strength.
