Due to the resignation of David Carpenter, the DCDP will be electing a new First Vice Chair to fill the unexpired term. We will hold this election at our regular monthly Central/Executive Committee meeting on January 16, 2020. Please note that the location of this meeting is the Unity Community Center, 54 Ross Street in Delaware, and the meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. Early in April, our party will re-organize, with election of all five officers for two-year terms.
The position to be filled as First Vice Chair is open to men only. DNC and ODP rules require the first Vice Chair and Chair be of different genders. While this meeting will be open to the general public, only Executive Committee members are eligible to vote.
Any man who is a member of the Executive Committee of the Delaware County Democratic Party and who is interested in becoming First Vice Chair should:
- identify someone to nominate him for this position
- prepare a brief (five minutes is enough) speech expressing interest and qualifications for the position.
In keeping with DCDP, ODP, and DNC rules, all votes are open votes, not secret ballot.
I look forward to seeing you at the meeting for this important decision.
Questions may be directed at DCDP chair Peg Watkins (email).
